An 80's loving team, Rockin' Knockers cant wait for the party. We aren’t just walking for a cure. We want to save your “girls, girls, girls.”
For all of us, this walk is sort of an “Emotional Rescue.” Recently Ashlie and I were kind of in the dumps, having one “Manic Monday” after another. We had considered a trip to a “Love Shack” but were too “Goody Two Shoes” for that. “Turning Japanese” seemed impossible. So, we decided that in theses young and “Tender Years” we needed to do something big and BOLD. Ashlie & I decided to form a team and began to brainstorm plenty of great names. Melissa mentioned “I love Rock and Roll” and Ashlie replied “I’ve got a Rock and Roll Heart.” We decided that “We’ve Got the Beat" and we also have some Rockin’ Knockers.
Melissa, a Graduate of Friends University was looking for something more. Having three Breast Cancer Survivors in my family “There is always something there to remind me” that God is GOOD. “Every breath you take” is so precious.
Ashlie, a student at NWOSU is no “Material Girl.” She is truly a “Shining Star.” “You might think” shes crazy, but this is something that she has always wanted to do! I am so thankful to have her as my walking buddy. She is really going to keep pushing us until we are all over the “Borderline.”
I kept having all of "These Dreams" about growing our team. I was hoping that someone would join our team, rock the walk, and camp out in pink tents "under the milky way" with us. Im telling you, I prayed "for the longest time." The next thing you know, I had inspired my Uncle to join our team!
Tracy Overbay, a graduate of UNM Pharmacy School and dad of 4 has a very personal reason for walking. When God needed another "Angel" in "Heaven." Tracy, lost his sister in law Theresa Carpio to breast cancer 12 years ago. She left behind a husband and two small children ages 3 and 6.
Tracy has a beautiful heart. At first, he may have thought that he was "into deep." But I reminded him that "We got the Beat." and told him that he could even wear his "Sunglasses at Night" if he really wanted too!
Its not “Just the two of us.” anymore! We were so fortunate to add another member to our team! We are always looking for more teammates. If you think you can “Walk like and Egyptian” then “You can do magic.” Join team Rockin’ Knockers. With us you are sure to be a “Smooth Operator.” It’s “Time for me to fly” are you ready to spread your wings too? When your ready to take the “Jump” you shouldn’t feel like you are “Free Falling” or “Dancing in the Dark.” We will be there with you every step of the way! We’ve been “Waiting for a girl (or guy) like you.” “Lets Dance” together. We would love to have you whether you’re “Jesse’s Girl,” "Jack & Diane", “Billie Jean,” “The Lady in Red” or planning your “white wedding,” join us as we travel to the “Wild, Wild West” for a “Walk of Life.”
